I see an opportunity to recreate a country where our freedom once again stands as a beacon of hope to not only those around the world, but to those around our country. Will this be easy? Probably not. But,will this be possible? The answer is a resounding “Yes.”
For me, 2010 is the year of hope despite this administration mortgaging our country, destroying our healthcare system and threatening our moral character. Let me explain why I’m hopeful. I see many people realizing that we have turned down the wrong path toward our future. These people are now becoming more vocal and active. I salute them. I am one of them.
Meanwhile, our representatives in Washington continue to ignore those they are supposed to represent. The present fight over healthcare is only the latest example. The Senate and the House continue to push an agenda that the majority rejects. This will further embolden our citizenry to take action, inspire their neighbors and retake this country. As Abraham Lincoln said, “…a government of the people, by the people and for the people, will not perish from this Earth.”
I am optimistic because I believe in the people of this great nation.
